Editorial Policy

Our standard: useful, specific, transparent
Living with Gear publishes buying advice for kitchen appliances, everyday technology, and headphones. We aim to help readers make a suitable choice for a real routine, rather than encourage purchases for their own sake.
Research and sourcing
We prefer manufacturer specifications, product manuals, and support documentation for product facts. Articles link to their reference sources and identify the date the information was checked. A product’s specifications may differ across generations, model numbers, and countries. Prices and availability change, so we direct readers to the seller for current details rather than display an unmaintained price.
Recommendations and practical examples
Our buying judgments are editorial interpretations of published information. Examples about commutes, home offices, and kitchens illustrate a possible use case; they are not claims that an editor personally lived through every example or tested every item. Unless an article explicitly explains a documented hands-on process, treat it as a research-based guide.
We do not invent ratings, benchmarks, customer-review totals, laboratory results, personal experience, professional qualifications, or awards. We consider who an option fits, what compromises it requires, and when another product—or no purchase—is more sensible.
Commercial relationships
We may earn a commission when readers use qualifying affiliate links. An affiliate relationship does not determine the practical conclusions in an article. Ordinary source links and merchant links can also appear without a commission. Sponsored editorial content, if introduced, will be clearly identified where it appears.
Images
Article photographs are illustrative lifestyle images, with source attribution where applicable. They communicate a setting or routine and are not evidence of a product test. A photographed product may differ from the specific models discussed. People pictured are not represented as our staff or as endorsing the site.
Dates and corrections
Publication dates reflect when an article was prepared. We do not backdate articles to create an appearance of longevity. When a substantive correction is made, we update the affected information and relevant date. Please use Contact to identify an error, ideally with the article URL and an authoritative source.
Reader decisions
Check compatibility, regional electrical requirements, seller terms, current features, and returns before buying. Our guides inform a decision; the final choice and transaction remain between you and the merchant.
