Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 4, 2026
This policy describes information handled by Living with Gear at livingwithgear.com. It applies to this website, not to third-party merchants or linked services.
Information you choose to send
If you use our contact form, we receive your name, email address, selected subject, and message. We use this information to read your inquiry, respond when appropriate, and investigate corrections or business requests. Please do not send payment-card information, passwords, identity documents, or sensitive personal details.
Contact submissions are stored using Cloudflare’s infrastructure and automatically expire after 90 days. If you continue a conversation by email, the associated email records may remain with the mailbox provider until the inquiry and any necessary follow-up are resolved.
Security and technical information
Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes technical information associated with a request, such as an IP address, browser information, requested URL, and security signals. These functions support delivery and protection of the website. See Cloudflare’s Privacy Policy for its practices.
For contact-form abuse prevention, we may temporarily store a hashed rate-limit identifier derived from the requesting IP address. This identifier expires within one hour. We do not attach the raw IP address to the saved contact message.
Cookies and browser storage
We do not load optional advertising trackers or third-party analytics scripts. The site may save a preference indicating that you acknowledged cookie information in local browser storage. Cloudflare may set security cookies when needed. Our Cookie Notice explains these functions.
External and affiliate links
Following a merchant or affiliate link takes you to another service with its own privacy practices. An affiliate program may record that a referral came from this website and may use cookies or other tracking on the merchant or network service. We do not receive your merchant account password or payment-card details through those links.
Why and with whom information is processed
We use submitted information to handle requested communication and use necessary technical information to operate and protect the website. Where relevant privacy laws distinguish legal bases, requested communications may rely on steps you ask us to take or consent, and necessary site operation and abuse prevention may rely on legitimate interests.
Service providers process information as needed for hosting and communication. We do not sell contact messages or use them to enroll you in a mailing list. Information may be disclosed where required by a valid legal obligation or to protect rights and address misuse.
Location and security
Hosting services can process information in multiple countries. We rely on the provider’s applicable contractual and security arrangements. No internet service provides a guarantee against every security risk.
Your choices and requests
You can avoid submitting personal information, clear local browser storage, and choose whether to follow external links. Depending on the laws that apply to you, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing. Use Contact with the subject “Privacy request” and enough detail to locate the information. We may ask for proportionate verification before fulfilling a request.
Children
This site is intended for a general adult readership and does not seek contact information from children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted personal information, contact us so the message can be reviewed and deleted as appropriate.
Changes and questions
We may update this policy when our services or practices change. The date shown above identifies the latest version. Privacy questions can be sent through our Contact page.
